President Obama, in weekly radio address

,polo ralph lauren

The Obama administration's account of what may have happened in the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi last week has evolved by the day.

At first, officials were reluctant to say whether the strike that killed four Americans including the U.S. ambassador to Libya was premeditated. Top-ranking officials ranging from White House Press Secretary Jay Carney to U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice subsequently gave briefings and went on television to claim they had no evidence the strike was pre-planned. Carney and others then began to open the door to other possibilities, as accounts emerged that there could be an Al Qaeda connection.

After more than a week, Carney said Thursday it was "self evident" the strike was terrorism. He and others continue to stick by claims, though, that there's no evidence the attack was pre-planned.

The following is a look back at administration statements over the course of the past two weeks.

Sept. 12

Carney, at White House press briefing, asked whether the attack was premeditated: "It's too early for us to make that judgment. I think -- I know that this is being investigated, and we're working with the Libyan government to investigate the incident. So I would not want to speculate on that at this time."

Sept. 13

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland, at briefing: "We are very cautious about drawing any conclusions with regard to who the perpetrators were, what their motivations were, whether it was premeditated, whether they had any external contacts,Drew Petersons defense team speaks out on trial, whether there was any link, until we have a chance to investigate along with the Libyans. So I know that's going to be frustrating for you, but we really want to make sure that we do this right and we don't jump to conclusions. That said, polo homme, obviously, there are plenty of people around the region citing this disgusting video as something that has been motivating. As the Secretary said this morning, while we as Americans, abercrombie france Fox Plans to Bring Back Cosmos, of course, respect free speech, respect free expression, there's never an excuse for it to become violent."

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: "I also want to take a moment to address the video circulating on the Internet that has led to these protests in a number of countries. Let me state very clearly - and I hope it is obvious - that the United States Government had absolutely nothing to do with this video. We absolutely reject its content and message. America's commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. And as you know, polo lacoste, we are home to people of all religions, polo ralph lauren, many of whom came to this country seeking the right to exercise their own religion, including, of course, millions of Muslims. And we have the greatest respect for people of faith.
To us,ralph lauren, to me personally, this video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose: to denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage. But as I said yesterday, there is no justification, none at all, for responding to this video with violence. We condemn the violence that has resulted in the strongest terms, longchamp, and we greatly appreciate that many Muslims in the United States and around the world have spoken out on this issue."

Sept. 14

Carney: "We have no information to suggest that it was a preplanned attack.  The unrest we've seen around the region has been in reaction to a video that Muslims, many Muslims find offensive.  And while the violence is reprehensible and unjustified, it is not a reaction to the 9/11 anniversary that we know of,abercrombie fitch, or to U.S. policy. ... The unrest around the region has been in response to this video. We do not, at this moment, have information to suggest or to tell you that would indicate that any of this unrest was preplanned."

Sept. 15

President Obama, in weekly radio address: "This tragic attack takes place at a time of turmoil and protest in many different countries. I have made it clear that the United States has a profound respect for people of all faiths. We stand for religious freedom. And we reject the denigration of any religion -- including Islam. Yet there is never any justification for violence. There is no religion that condones the targeting of innocent men and women. There is no excuse for attacks on our Embassies and Consulates. And so long as I am Commander-in-Chief,ralph lauren pas cher, the United States will never tolerate efforts to harm our fellow Americans."

Sept. 16

Rice,Celebs pledge allegiance to Obama, sac longchamp pliage, abercrombie, on "Fox News Sunday": "The best information and the best assessment we have today is that this was not a pre-planned, pre-meditated attack. What happened initially was that it was a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired in Cairo as a consequence of the video. People gathered outside the embassy and then it grew very violent. And those with extremist ties joined the fray and came with heavy weapons, polo femme, which unfortunately are quite common in post-revolutionary Libya, and that then spun out of control."

Sept. 17

Nuland: "Well, let me start by reminding you that Ambassador Rice outranks me,hogan outlet, as does my own boss, so she is often at liberty to say more than I am. And I guess that's going to continue to be the case. What I will say, though, is that Ambassador Rice, in her comments on every network over the weekend, was very clear, very precise, about what our initial assessment of what happened is. And this was not just her assessment. It was also an assessment that you've heard in comments coming from the intelligence community, in comments coming from the White House. I don't have anything to give you beyond that. She also made clear, as I had on Friday, that there is an ongoing FBI investigation. So frankly, I'm not sure that it's useful to go beyond that. I'm not capable of going beyond that, polo ralph lauren outlet, and we'll have to just see what the FBI investigation brings us. ... I would simply say that what - the comments that Ambassador Rice made accurately reflect our government's initial assessment."

Nuland, asked whether it was an act of terrorism: "I don't think we know enough. I don't think we know enough. And we're going to continue to assess. She gave our preliminary assessment. We're going to have a full investigation now, and then we'll be in a better position to put labels on things, okay?"

Sept. 18

Carney: "Well, what I can tell you is that we have provided information about what we believe was the precipitating cause of the protest and the violence, hogan uomo, polo femme, abercrombie How to Help Simone Homeless Woman Gave, based on the information that we have had available.  There is an ongoing investigation.  The FBI is investigating.  And that investigation will follow the facts wherever they lead. ... I'm saying that based on information that we -- our initial information, polo ralph lauren, ralph lauren pas cher, and that includes all information -- we saw no evidence to back up claims by others that this was a preplanned or premeditated attack; that we saw evidence that it was sparked by the reaction to this video.  And that is what we know thus far based on the evidence, concrete evidence -- not supposition -- concrete evidence that we have thus far.  But there is a lot that is under investigation here, and as more facts come to light, if they change that assessment, we'll make that clear.  ... Based on the information that we have now, ralph lauren pas cher, it was -- there was a reaction to the video -- there was protests in Cairo, then followed by protests elsewhere, including Benghazi, and that that was what led to the original unrest."

Sept. 19

Carney: "What I can tell you is that, as I said last week, as our Ambassador to the United Nations said on Sunday and as I said the other day, based on what we know now and knew at the time, we have no evidence of a preplanned or premeditated attack.  This, however, abercrombie france, remains under investigation, and I made that clear last week, and Ambassador Rice made that clear on Sunday.  And if more facts come to light that change our assessment of what transpired in Benghazi and why and how, we will welcome those facts and make you aware of them. But again, based on the information that we had at the time and have to this day, we do not have evidence that it was premeditated.  It is a simple fact that there are, in post-revolution,abercrombie and fitch Casey Anthonys Attorney Doub, post-war Libya, armed groups, there are bad actors hostile to the government,Filmmaker Sam Bacile in hiding after anti-Muslim f, hostile to the West, polo homme, hostile to the United States."

National Counterterrorism Center Director Matthew Olsen, in testimony on Capitol Hill: "Certainly on that particular question I would say yes, they were killed in the course of a terrorist attack on our embassy."

Olsen: "What we don't have at this point is specific intelligence that there was significant advanced planning or coordination for this attack. Again, we're still developing facts and still looking for any indications of substantial advanced planning. We just haven't seen that at this point."

Sept. 20

Carney: "It is, I think, self evident that what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack. Our embassy was attacked violently and the result was four deaths of American officials. That is self evident. ... Had this happened on any day of the week on any month, this would have been a terrorist attack. This was an assault on our embassy, a violent attack, rather, on our diplomatic facility there that resulted in the death of four Americans."

And starting Tuesday in the first two days of this convention.

And happy Labor Day weekend everyone while this holiday used to signal the start of the fall campaign.

Both sides have been hitting each other hard for months.

As Democrats prepare to nominate Barack Obama for a second term we are joined from the -- by his top strategist David Axelrod and David.

Welcome back to FOX News Sunday.

Thanks Chris good to be -- Anyone who is out that Democratic Convention in Denver four years ago remember his.

The magic there the sense of hope and endless possibilities.

How do you recapture that magic this week.

Well I'm glad you have such warm memories of that convention Chris first of all I I share them.

I think we're gonna have a very good week.

In Charlotte are our party and we don't have the problems that the other party has were not divided we don't have to worry about.

You know what.

People are saying on the side -- Go about their affection for the president or or we don't have those -- we don't have the reinvention convention.

Where -- unified party we believe strongly that we have to move this country forward around policies -- lift the middle class that that's how you grow the economy.

And we're gonna point the way to the future this week and everybody is very excited about it.

But at the Republican Convention Mitt -- said the president's real problem.

Is his record and let's take a look at that.

Every president since the Great Depression.

Who came before the American people asking for a second term.

Could look back at the last four years and say with satisfaction.

You're better off than you were four years ago.

Except Jimmy Carter.

And accept this president.

David can you.

Honestly say that the average American is better off today than they were four years ago.

Here's what I can say Chris I can say that we're -- today.

Better position than we were four years ago and our economy in the sense that when this president took office we were losing 800000 jobs a month.

The quarter before he took office was the worst quarter that this country's had economically since the great depression and we aren't at different places one in nine straight months of job growth four point five million.

Private sector jobs are we where we need to be.

No but the problem with what governor Romney -- his first three days they never offered anybody -- plausible alternative he spoke for 45 minutes.

And never really offered any any real ideas for how to move the economy forward for how to lift the middle class and in that sense I think -- his convention was it's terrible failure.

They never he never talked about the principal.

Planks of his own.

Plan he never talked about his five trillion dollar tax cuts skewed to the wealthy.

Never talked about turning Medicare into a voucher program.

There are so many things that he didn't talk about and people walked away.

Those voters who are trying to that the side and -- invasive what what -- what alternative exactly has he offered.

But you keep talking about Romney I'd like to talk about the Obama record and I want to put some statistics up on this grain.

Unemployment was seven point 8% when the president took office it's now eight point 3%.

Median household income was almost 55000.

Dollars it's now less than 51000.

Gas was a dollar 85 a gallon when he took office now it's 37 DA doubles double.

The national debt was ten point six trillion and it may go past sixteen trillion.

This week so just looking at the president's record in those statistics David.

Is the an average American better off than four years ago.

Chris I as I said to you before I think the average American recognizes that it took years to create.

The crisis that erupted in 2008.

And peaked in January of 2009 and it's gonna take.

Some time to work through it so you know you say I keep talking about Mitt Romney -- talk about Mitt Romney because all Mitt Romney -- talk about Barack Obama and this election is a choice where you're gonna -- this week in Charlotte -- president is gonna present a clear agenda for the future that talks about how we build a sound economy and lift the middle class in this country.

You can hear those kinds of things from the Republican Party their platform was locked up in the same ball does Mitt Romney's tax returns they simply don't want to talk about their ideas because there are ideas are not ideas about the future they're derivative of what we did the last decade that brought our economy to a.

Needs.

But but David again -- going back to the president's record because he's the one seeking re election he famously said.

If I don't turn this thing around and I'll be a one term president.

The economy has 300000.

Fewer jobs net net 300000 fewer job now.

That in February of 2009.

Every single month for the last one and I months I've heard Republicans give that talking point and every month that that that number of gets smaller and smaller Chris because we've gained four point five million jobs in the last 29 months but let's talk specifically about you say.

Are people better off I think.

Those auto workers whose industry would have collapsed of the president hadn't intervened.

Are certainly better off I think.

That the millions and millions of Americans a young Americans and who have health care today who wouldn't have had it.

If -- the president that if I hadn't acted are better off I think that it's the million the millions of people been able -- read.

Negotiate their mortgages so that they're paying -- true.

Real lesson of the Chicago teachers strike -- fire

The Chicago teachers strike has just ended after entering a second week. Isn't that nice of them? The Chicago teachers union is getting a raise in the middle of a depression and they have decided to "allow" the kids to go back to school. These are such selfless people! It's obvious they’re always thinking about the kids.

But even though the strike is now over -- this is a perfect time to talk about it,Judge Jeanine on embassy attacks, to analyze what just happened. This is what President Obama would call a “teachable moment.” This is Exhibit A for what ails America...for why America is broke...why America is dysfunctional...and for why our public school system is in shambles.

The Chicago teachers are among the highest paid in the nation. And their results are among the worst in the nation. And in the middle of this Obama Great Depression- the second worst economic crisis in our nation’s history- they went on strike because they were unhappy with a big fat raise, and they did not want to face evaluations of their performance from time to time.

The saddest part of all is how foolish government is. This is like a Chicago version of  "Dumb & Dumber." The negotiation from the start involved government offering a raise,Trade union strikes cripple parts of India Fox Ne, while the greedy teachers union asked for a bigger raise. They were fighting over how much of a raise to give grossly overpaid employees in the middle of a Great Depression. There was never even a thought of cutting their compensation or basing it on performance- like so many of us in the private sector.

The financial crisis we are in,polo ralph lauren pas cher, abercrombie pas cher US Military Rescues Iranian S, as a country, ralph lauren, is because government is full of fools who only know how to negotiate upward -- WITH YOUR TAX MONEY,Red double-decker tour bus service opens in New Or!

How broke is America, while we're giving out raises to teachers? Well in Cook County (Chicago) the Treasurer recently reported that the debt is $108 billion dollars. Most of that is for pensions for overpaid government employees. $108 billion dollars in one county, in one city. In particular, the Chicago school district faces a $700 million deficit.

Yet the debate was over how much of a raise to give Chicago teachers? This teacher strike is Exhibit A for everything wrong with government. Especially Chicago government- the place where Obama learned everything he knows about how to bankrupt a country.

Remember this strike was about failing employees who are paid an average of $71,000 per year. Plus gold-plated health care packages. Plus $2.4 million per teacher in taxpayer-funded retirement packages.

Yes, I said each teacher gets $2.4 million in retirement. Each.

Now my wife and I home-schooled our daughter to Harvard, abercrombie and fitch paris San Diego Man Stranded, ralph lauren pas cher, polo ralph lauren pas cher, and she was just accepted at Oxford.

There is something wrong here folks.

Keep in mind my retirement (as a business owner) is funded only by me. Yet each Chicago teacher’s $2.4 million golden parachute is paid by you- the taxpayers. Even though most taxpayers don’t have a pension!

And the teachers were on strike?

Keep in mind the disgraceful results produced by these striking teachers. For $71,polo femme,000 per year plus obscene pensions of $77,ralph lauren pas cher,000 per year, these union teachers have produced a graduation rate of 54%. Yet the graduation rate for charter schools in Chicago, with non-union teachers, is 76%. What do teachers at charter schools get paid? The average is $48,910 per year. Why do charter schools work so much better? Hmmm, could it be because they are non-union?

Chicago schools have the shortest school day of any major school system in the nation. Only 33% of Chicago students who enter high school will attend college. But worst of all are the figures for African American students in Chicago. Only 1 in 40 will graduate college from black inner city neighborhoods.

These are the results that teachers think demand big raises, fewer teacher evaluations, sac longchamp pas cher, and more job security? In the private sector these kind of results would be met with “YOU’RE FIRED!”

So how should the strike have been handled? When faced with the strike of government employees, ralph lauren, former President Ronald Reagan provided the model. In Reagan’s case it was Air Traffic Controllers. These were (theoretically) irreplaceable employees who direct airplane traffic across the U.S. skies, ralph lauren, and are responsible for the safety of millions of lives every day. And they were good at their job. Unlike teachers, polo ralph lauren pas cher, there were no failures, sac longchamp, abercrombie fitch Windows 8 Apps A Look at the Bea, or drop-outs in the sky under this group of government employees.

Yet Reagan simply told the whole striking union to report for work in 3 days, or you’re fired. Forever. Don’t report and you’re banned for life. When they refused, ralph lauren, Reagan fired them all. Forever. Reagan replaced them with military air traffic controllers and supervisors, until new controllers could be hired and trained. Result: a seamless transition and not one accident.

Why didn’t we handle the Chicago teachers strike the same way? Report to work, or be fired. Forever. Then bring in substitutes and supervisors from across the state. Offer them full time jobs at one-third lower salaries, one-half the pensions, and demand bigger contributions for their health care costs. And tell them the school day just got 2 hours longer.

I predict you’d have had lines stretching for miles, polo lacoste, ralph lauren pas cher, with new teachers driving in from across the nation begging to be hired. You’ll have had 10 applicants for every job opening.

If we had fired these greedy, ralph lauren pas cher, selfish union teachers, polo homme, and brought in younger non-union replacements with fresh ideas, stronger work ethic, polo ralph lauren pas cher, and a positive can-do attitude, polo ralph lauren, polo ralph lauren pas cher, I guarantee you that the kids would have benefited.

Most importantly, the key to my plan would be to incentivize these new teachers with giant bonuses based on performance- so that if they produced great results their salaries would actually wind up higher than the union teachers.

And combine performance-based compensation with school choice. Give vouchers to Chicago's parents, so they can choose the best school for their children. I guarantee you that competition would improve public schools. This is how you bring the best of capitalism to education. This is how you empower teachers and change the lives of our children. Competition works for Coke and Pepsi, and Microsoft and Apple. Why wouldn't it benefit our education system?

Heck, the results could not get any worse. What do we have to lose? I say end the unions, polo, fire them all, and start over. Let's do it right. Because our children's entire future is at stake.

Goodyear developing soybean-based tire rubber Fox

,Hey Ollie, eyes up here! 'Savages' directo, polo homme

What do tires and tofu have in common? Besides being soft and mushy, polo ralph lauren pas cher, not much. But that’s about to change.

Goodyear is developing a new rubber compound that uses soybean oil instead of petroleum-based products, polo lacoste, polo femme, and it could be on the road in just a few years.

The project, ralph lauren, funded in part with a grant from the United Soybean Board, is moving from the lab to Goodyear’s proving grounds in San Angelo, polo femme, polo ralph lauren, Texas, ralph lauren pas cher, polo, where it will be evaluated to determine if it’s ready for some prime wheel time.

Mike Kerns,Results, ralph lauren pas cher, polo femme, Manager of Global Materials Technology for Goodyear, polo ralph lauren, says that early testing at the factory where it is produced indicates that the compound could increase tire tread life by as much as 10 percent over conventional materials,Severe weather for the Eastern Seaboard F,polo femme, polo ralph lauren, and that it has been found to improve the dispersion of additives used in modern rubber formulations, longchamp pas cher, polo ralph lauren outlet, such as silica, which could lead to more efficient manufacturing processes.

But the main advantages to switching to locally-sourced soybean oil are sustainability and less pricing volatility compared to the petroleum products currently in use. The United States is the world’s largest producer of both soybeans and soybean oil.
